Leaders

  • We implement award-winning leadership development programs to live the Balanced Man Ideal, impacting 4,000+ members annually.

  • The SigEp Leadership Continuum is a series of progressive leadership opportunities aimed at teaching and reinforcing SigEp values in hopes of developing skills necessary to live balanced lives and to continue leading the fraternity world.

  • We continuously have a strong influence on campus -- with brothers holding leadership roles in organizations like Student Senate, RHA, Student Ambassadors, PMACs, Orientation Leaders, SASA, IFC, professional fraternities, DECA, DASS, and The Times-Delphic.

Scholars

  • Nationally, SigEp leads all fraternities in the nation with the highest GPA (above a 3.0).

  • We hold a cumulative 3.34 GPA even with more than a hundred members.

  • Our chapter's cumulative GPA is the 2nd highest of the fraternities and is well above the all campus average -- something we pride ourselves on.

  • We've been at the top of Drake academics for nearly 7 years -- 14 semesters.

  • We annually award $2,500 in scholarships to incoming freshmen male students for academic and all-around excellence.

  • We are a Residential Learning Community, which means we use our house as a classroom in efforts to augment the fraternal experience with an academic focus beyond our studies at Drake.

  • We have two faculty fellows, Dr. Deb Bishop and Prof. Bill Lewis, who are act as additional advisors to the chapter and strive to help us grow throughout our college fraternal experience.

  • We have an in-house library that provides much-needed 24-hour study space as well as comprehensive study files to help you improve academically.

Athletes

  • Our Intramural Teams continuously make it to the Drake All-University Championships, whether it be for flag football, basketball, outdoor/indoor soccer, volleyball, floor hockey, or softball.

  • Our flag football team participates in regional tournaments, and has qualified in the past for the National Flag Football Championship.

  • Many of our members are also involved in Drake's club sports, like Club Tennis and Men's Club Soccer

Service

  • In 2014, we raised $17,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through our week of philanthropic events called "Queen of Hearts".

  • We volunteer to help out the local Urbandale Middle School to offer positive role models to our community's youths.

  • We collect food for the Combat Hunger canned-food drive and regularly win the collection competition on Greek Street.

  • We host "Miracle on 34th Street" a philanthropic holiday-themed event, where last year we gathered over 100 toys and raised over $1000 for the local Toys for Tots branch.

  • We offer hours of community service for the betterment of the community.

Social Events

  • We have a variety of social events every semester -- from themed crush parties and exchanges with sororities (yoga with sorority girls...) to formals in nearby cities like Kansas City and Minneapolis.

  • We organize brotherhood activities as well -- going to Iowa Cubs games, paint-balling, pick-up at the Bell Center, poker nights, and annual SuperBowl and March Madness watch-parties at the house.
